Mini review:

Story: 8/10 I've only played for about 3 hours now but so far the story is decent, finding it alot more engaging than Skyrim's bullshit.

Combat: 8.5/10 I'm really enjoying the combat in this game. Playing on hard right now, having a blast. The combat is somewhat standard hack and slash fare but the parry and dodge systems add some unique dimension to it, and literally every enemy has a different moveset with its own unique weaknesses

Graphics: 8.5/10 Game looks fantastic, but isn't mindblowing or ground breaking or anything.

And hammer combat is also satisfying as hell, recommended fo sho.

The beta/demo was very bad, so it's good to hear the release build is decent.

Could you comment on movement controls / camera, and inventory menu?

Movement is standard wasd, space to dodge, shift to block, alt to run (dont know if thats default, its what i have it as)

Camera gets a little wonky but i got used to it pretty easily

No problems with the inventory menu, game doesn't feel like a console port like most of the crap that comes out these days, feels right at home on PC

I don't think this game has final thrust.

Also, does anyone know why it's being released 2 days later in Europe? I don't see why a game with digital download should have anything but a global release date.

You say its a hack n slash game?

So is the game similar to Fable in combat?

The PC demo was unimpressive, but Penny Arcade had very good things to say about it so I picked up the console version. Feels much better on console, it was made for a controller.

Something I really noticed is that once you get out into the woods, the monster design is really good. Enemies actually look unique and interesting. Little touches like the boggarts chasing fairies or brownies nibbling on corpses help make the world.

It is kind of like Skyrim with interesting combat.

Got about 12 hours into the game and just don't want to play any more. The combat feels really good at first, but then as you progress it really doesn't really change at all. I found myself wanting to be able to do more at any given time and there seems to be a lack of active abilities. Even as a mage I found a terrible lack of choice in how I could approach a fight, being again 12 hours in and I had 2 offensive spells, one of which was inferior to the other so there was no point in using it. The same goes with other classes as well, it's all about using your weapon of choice and that gets repetitive.

I do like the dodge + block fast choices you have to make in a battle though. Is it better to block and riposte the attack, or avoid it if its really big damage or CC. That is really well done and is probably the most enjoyable part of combat.

Stealth sucks. The stealth system in the game is piss poor and I hate it. Either it's terrible or I'm doing something very wrong.

The destiny system is not as flexible as I would have hoped. You really have to build your character towards a specific destiny (ability distribution) to get those massive bonus. It's not terrible, but it could have been better.

Story and quests seemed pretty good. Good acting and somewhat interesting plot. Leveling is slow and feels like a MMO time sink, which is probably the case as this game was designed originally to be an MMO. I think it would probably take more than 50 hours to reach max level and I think it could have been half that.

It's not a bad game overall, I just don't want to play it any more at the moment. I'll probably give it some more time in a week or so and see if I want to go any further.

I hear ya, as i continue to play the game seems like a franken-game that borrows elements from every rpg out there, that being said its a pretty well-polished and content riddled frankengame. Combat is awesome but i'm hoping to gets some mods out or hopefully an actual developer made patch to increase the difficulty, game is WAYYY too easy right now, why throw in an excellent parry system if you're never forced to use it?

Only thing i can think of about your stealth is you aren't putting points in the tree? I find the stealth pretty silly in general thoughbecause alot of the time there are enemies just sitting in a circle, so no matter how good your stealth is you're fucked anyway, unless you eventually get that skill that turns you invisible

I restarted the game a few times because the difficulty was just way too easy so i plan to just level as a jack of all trades, master of none. I think if i keep my skill points at 3-4 instead of 5-6 in skills it will keep the difficulty levels where i want them to be. About 5 hours in the current playthrough and my general plan is to spec in Hammers, Bows, and ice magic, whilst throwing in all the pre-reqs to get to those things

If i can't find a way to make this game as hard as i want it to be there's no way i'm going to finish it, and i know it.

Stealth is actually pretty good against those circles. Just instead of going stealth into a stealth kill, you open with an AoE that hits everyone. Plus stealth, daggers, and assassination lets you one-hit KO some bigger things like Jottuns.
