GvG is going to be implemented in GW2 along with other types of PvP.
Fucking Amen.

GOOGLE TRNSALTED FROM MY POST AT GUILDWARSPT.COM - not gonna write it again in english
1. The accounts will have a system autenticator (digital and possibly physical) similar to WoW - official information will come out next week.
2. In case of account hacking the account may be restored to their prior state before the intrusion.
3. There will be live in-game support (similar to WoW) through tool that we already use to report BUGS, we will be able to contact a GM in real time.
4. The end-game is not 100% completed, there is much work to do, but ANET is not expecting the the end-game to be reachable quickly, they are now focused on the release, if all goes well they will move on to work at 100% in the endgame (DiabloIII nostalgia??).
PS - They are aware of the disaster of Diablo with the end-game and ensured that will not happen to GW2, after the release team will jump all just work in end-game.
5. Are being explored new methods of PvP, GvG is confirmed to return to GW2, but said they could not disclose much more.
6. New merchandise will be launched on 28/08/2012, including Dragon T-Shirts.
Fun facts:
All 270 workers from NCSOFT who are working in GW2 will be online in head-start, including those in Europe and Asia, just in case.
Well as I just drive 3 hours and have slept very badly, there are things that probably do not remember, I'll post pictures later with the ppl of ANET and GW booth.
The community manager for the French territory speaks Portuguese because her grandparents are living in Algarve.
NCSOFT launched a new sound-track of GW2 during the event (the first all-the-time containing lyrics).

GvG probably just means that you represent your guild on the sPvP maps already available.
Was nothing said about observing sPvP games? They need to hurry up with that

Just because its called the same thing doesn't mean it'll be the same thing. or be any good.
I don't really have a problem with CPs. They seem to serve much the same purpose as 2 bases and a flagstand to me. Still, no harm expanding the range of maps.

I'd be surprised if GvG means GW1 GvG, if this even turns out to be true.

Does this all still hold true? Anet seems to be denying a lot of things that were stated: http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/513 ... ators-gvg/

It's less interesting on a fundamental level since it's static. The only thing that changes as the game goes on is the score; in GW1 GvG (and in a lot of top-tier games and video games) the nature of the game changes also as the game progresses. Not that a static game cannot be interesting and indeed, all popular sports that I can think off are static in their nature.

Collin Johanson wrote: Just want to jump on this before it gets out of hand. Pretty much nothing in this post is factually correct, I'm not sure where this information came from but flat out: it's misinformed at best and a lot of it totally false.
We'll absolutely have a GM team that helps support the game at live, the rest of it is partially incorrect information or just plain wrong. You'll start seeing information about our post-ship plans shortly (as early as today on some press sites) but it'll come from developers specifically.
See you in game on Thursday! -Colin Note: the 'thursday' is a joke

Damn, just got home from work, look at this...
Maybe the setence could have been better translated about the end-game.
They said there was some end-game but it needs a lot of work, that is what it was said flat out.
Which brought me to speak of the Diablo III incident, where we all know of what happened, which led the conversation to, "we are aware of what happened with diablo, we will not make the same mistake, we are focused on the head-start and official release and from there we will move everyone to work on the end-game"
I didn't spend €1000 to go checkout the diggs and make up random shit that came to my mind, i'm passing what i was informed, like any other fan would, i had a great time in there.
I could have also been mis-informed, but since the NCSOFT employees spoke fluently english i doubt it.
BTW, PvE invasion - "Most users ever online was 366 on Aug 20 2012, 6:46 pm"

You're totally Reddit's public enemy no.1 after this. Which, I think, is actually something to be proud of.

It's probably a combo of people overreacting, PR folks not knowing their own product and PR folks sharing info that CLEARLY wasn't meant to be shared.
