Hi, i dont usually make threads like this but i think the metagame has evolved to an interesting place right now. I'm just wondering what peoples thoughts are on midline damage at the moment.

Paragons are still a pretty viable source of damage and since the update mesmers have become a good source of damage also. Maybe taking mesmers away slightly from their shutdown role, dunno if you think this was a good thing or not.

I think maybe ele's could be toned down a little, i dont think its particularly healthy for people to be able to bring 3-4 eles with a tonne of defence and a shit load of damage, they should be able to be punished for having so many squishies. Or they need to pick between defence/damage.

Also dual ranger isn't really viable anymore, the rapidfire BA bar is pretty underpowered in comparison to other bars. But GA ranger was definatly problematic, so maybe this is for the best.

Discuss.

I think this is the best option. Things like water / air should have their damage toned down a bit so attributes like fire deal out the most damage by a large amount, but at the tradeoff of no defense in the attribute line.

The problem is still and will be until they fix it, armor levels and monkbars, mainly word of healing, patient spirit and cure hex together with blockstances being able to soak up everything and forces you to take a shitload of damage or not being able to even kill unprotted monks during a knockdown for example when he is alone.

Midline damage is decent at the moment, probably abit high in some cases like mirror of ice still even though it is easy to deep strip. The mesmerbar is abit high up there aswell but not that bad after the spamchanges, they are very squishy after all.

Paragons and Rangers still got a walk in the park since there is no passive layer against ranged damage anymore so they can focus on damage and defense instead of shutdown.
Hopefully Ward against Melee is buffed back to its original stats together with the monkchanges so active defense can be used against the ranged damage instead of warriors.

If you want to spike with eles, you should basically be forced to use the higher risk/higher reward 2 sec cast skills like, orb, rodgorts, chain lightning, shatterstone etc. unless you run elite skills for spiking purposes such as mindshock.

Skills like shellshock, lightning bolt and all the water skills in conjunction with moi are just too good of a middle solution.

Making mesmers weaker will just remove them from play again. Same with eles.

I like mesmers, but not the way they are being used today, it's like playing an elementalist with pink skills.

They weren't made to be damage dealers imo, there was already a caster made for that.

Yes, I like my powerspike but that is completely different than something like mind wrack/overload/surge combos.

Well, since the NDA is very strict, I believe his answer will be somewhere along the lines of "When it's done"

But, I'm hopeful it will be implemented sometime in the summer.

I hope they delay the new tiebreaker as long as possible. I'd be very suprised if it improves the game.

The short moment of supermindwrack showed us how irrelevant the tiebreaker is if you can just kill your opponent.

Unless someone in the test krewe is not only very secretive but also an absolute genius, I'm 98% sure this new tiebreaker 'fix' will make the game worse.
